Today, we’re going to talk goals and vision!
I’m beyond grateful for a weekend we spent at the Amicalola Lodge almost two years ago. We were encouraged to getaway, fast, and pray to establish core values for us as a couple and our future family. In doing so, we came together and clearly heard the voice of the Lord speak to our hearts.
The Bible says, “Write the vision and make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it.” Habakkuk 2:2
We did just this. I now understand the importance of taking time to do so. On days when your world seems upside down, nothing feels certain, your heart is heavy and you can’t seem to make sense of it all, you turn to the vision on the wall.
I’d like to share ours with you, as an example, for encouragement and accountability to take the time to write out your own.
In Our Home We Believe...
In making biblically based decisions around Jesus.
Living with joy and purpose.
Having grace for one another.
Living a healthy lifestyle.
Being a great steward.
Keeping a spirit of excellence.
These hang in our home as important reminders, accountability and confidence Jesus has everything under control.
I encourage everyone to write down where you are in life, where you want to go and ask God does it match His will for your life.
The Word also says, “Where there is no vision, My people perish.” Proverbs 29:18
I am grateful for my marriage, I’m so in love with my husband and we both adore our baby girl. Marriage is hard. Raising kids is hard. Life is hard. But when God is at the center and the vision is clear, you can trust growth is going to take place in your life. It wasn’t easy to establish these core values. In order to listen, you must be quiet. For there to be quiet moments, you must turn off any distractions.
Here are our takeaways from learning how to do this:
Find a quiet place
Turn off all distractions
Seek the face of Jesus
Take time to invest in your marriage, family and life. Get ready, set, growth!
